What is RoHS? RoHS stands for:
“The Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances in electrical and electronic equipment”. The directive (2002/95/EC) as of July 1, 2006 prohibits new electrical and electronic equipment containing more than the agreed level of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) flame retardants on the EU Market. Manufacturers must utilize the RoHS Directive to ensure their products are in compliance.
